Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting a young entrepreneur. He received great advice to bring in a bookkeeper before his doors open for business. If financials are not set up properly from the beginning, you are sure to spend a lot of time and/or money down the road straightening them out – or maybe even go out of business.
This young man’s passion and excitement to begin this new journey in life as a small business owner left me smiling for the rest of the day. Do you still have the same passion for your business now as you did when you began? Personally I love what I do, work hard and remind myself daily how lucky I am to be able to help others succeed.
Once in a while you need to step out of the daily details of your business and re-energize, reconnect and rejuvenate. Do you remember why you started your business in the first place? If not, you need to sit back and think.
Start a long-desired project, maybe update your website. Take the leap and make a change so you can breathe fresh air into your passion. Take a day off or go on vacation. Unplugging allows our brain to relax and when it does you will have a new set of creative ideas to consider when you get back. When you are refreshed and rejuvenated your customers will feel it too.
Take a look at your financials and see if you should increase prices or find a way to improve your profit margin. So many businesses fail due to lack of financial record accuracy. Don’t let this happen to you.
If you need help cleaning up or maintaining your financials, I am here whenever you are ready. No pressure.
