You may be asking yourself… what does the photo have to do with referrals? Well, nothing. I just thought it was cute.
A short while back, I was at a business lunch and the topic turned to referrals. After the conversation, I thought, “There is no better feeling than a new client through a referral.” This means you have done your job well and your clients are thrilled with your services. Nobody likes to recommend someone and end up having a horrible experience. Then you look bad.
Word-of-mouth is a cost-effective and trusted marketing strategy. It lets people know you are out there and potentially increases brand awareness. It’s good business practice to look at how we can proactively increase our referrals. Add a line to your email signature, acknowledge your referral sources and keep track. When you find someone sent you a referral, be sure to send them a thank you note. People always say to me, “You didn’t need to do that.”, but they always remember I did!
Oh, and by the way, I appreciate your referrals! Within the past 14 days I received four solid referrals. Tis the Season… Tax season, that is.
